Billy Joe "Paw" Spicer, age 62, resident of the District 15 Community in Fayette County and husband of Patricia Wilson Spicer, departed this life Thursday evening, November 12, 2015 at his residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Spicer will be conducted at 3 P.M. Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with interment in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in the District 15 Community. A visitation for Mr. Spicer will be from 1 to 3 P.M. Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Spicer was born February 9, 1953 in Somerville. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and was married October 31, 1991 to the former Patricia Wilson. He was a lifelong resident of Fayette County and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Spicer was employed as a carpenter for over 20 years with D. & G. Contractors in Somerville before retiring for health reasons. He enjoyed outdoor activities that included fishing, hunting, gardening and horses in earlier years. Special times with his family and friends was an important part of Mr. Spicer’s life.

Mr. Spicer is survived by his wife of 24 years, Patricia Wilson Spicer of Somerville; his daughter, Nikki Culver (Brian) of Somerville; three sons, Donnie Joe Spicer (Brandie) of Somerville, Dale Spicer of Somerville, Joshua Spicer of Somerville; his mother, Lula Spicer Anthony (Randy) of Somerville; two sisters, Betty Spicer Cartlidge (John) of Middleton, Brenda Spicer Springer (Phillip) of Somerville; nine grandchildren, Joseph Spicer, Chelse Adams, Dakota Spicer, Dana Spicer, Dara Spicer, Chris Spicer, Riley Spicer, Joshua Culver, Kayla Culver; and one great grandchild.

Mr. Spicer was preceded in death by his father, Jack Vernon Spicer, who died January 22, 2010.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Sam Thrasher, Clint Carlson, Charles Connor, Barry Cannon, Curtis Hardin and Walter Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Rogers, Bubba DeFoor, Arthur Ray Glover, Jimmy Rogers and Mark Kelley.
