Birdie Mae (Vernon) Reynolds

Birdie Mae Vernon Reynolds, age 86, resident of Gallaway and wife of the late Forest Allen Reynolds, departed this life Tuesday morning, August 14, 2018 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Reynolds was held at 2 P.M. Friday, August 17, 2018 at the South Fork Cemetery in Chestnut Bluff, Tennessee with Bro. Ronnie Grunewald officiating. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Reynolds was born August 22, 1931 in Luxora, Arkansas. She graduated high school in Arkansas and was most recently a resident of the Gallaway Community. She was employed as a skilled nurse’s aid at the Arlington Developmental Center before her retirement in March of 1994. Mrs. Reynolds was married July 10, 1947 to Forest Allen Reynolds and she was a member of the Gallaway First Baptist Church. She enjoyed canning, reading and interacting with people.

Mrs. Reynolds is survived by two daughters, Tressie Hodge of Halls, TN, Angela Dyles of Bartlett, TN; four sons, Bubba Reynolds (Linda) of Munford, TN, Ronnie Reynolds of Bartlett, TN, Lamar Reynolds of Gallaway, TN, Randy Reynolds (Regina) of Arlington, TN; her sister, Maxine Chilcutt of Brownsville, TN; twenty grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest Allen Reynolds; her parents, John Wesley Vernon and Bertha Smith Vernon; and two daughters, Katrina Melton and Amy Carol Ervin.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Jason Dykes, Greg Thurmond, Richard Burrow, Lamar Reynolds, Jr., Chris Hill and Jimmy Rogers.
