Bobby Wesley Besinger

July 4, 1958 — November 10, 2007

BOBBY WESLEY "WES" BESINGER, a resident of Biloxi, Mississippi with family members in Fayette, Shelby and Chester Counties of Tennessee, died at 11 P.M. Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the Biloxi Regional Medical Center. He was 49 years of age, and died following a brief illness.


Funeral services for Mr. Besinger were conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, November 13th at Sardis Lake Baptist Church near Sardis, MS., with Rev. Kenny Weeks, Assistant Pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Sardis Lake Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home-Main Chapel of Somerville.


Mr. Besinger was born July 4, 1958 in Memphis, the son of the former Mary Inez Dungan and the late Bobby Hugh Besinger. He was educated in the Shelby County Public School system and was a graduate of the Kingsbury High School in Memphis. He was married January 24, 1998 to the former Vicki Snider of Memphis, who survives.


Mr. Besinger had been a resident of Biloxi for the past 2 years where he was employed as a Marine Technician. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a former resident of the Knoxville, Tennessee area. He will be remembered for his love of water sports, boats and skiing. His favorite pastimes included music, playing the guitar and puzzles.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lindsay Besinger of Memphis; son Josh Besinger of Memphis; his mother, Mary Inez Dobbins of Enid, MS.; sister, Sandra Ann Thompson of Henderson, TN; two brothers, Roger Besinger of Enid, MS and Donald Logan of Leesville, LA; and two grandchildren, Lillian and Kaleb Besinger.


Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Joshua Besinger, Donald Logan, Roger Besinger, Harvey Logan, Mark Moore and Nick Tindall.
