Bobby Ray Crook, age 72, resident of Eads and husband of Jan Graves Crook, departed this life Monday morning, August 24, 2015 at his residence.
Services of Remembrance for Bobby were conducted at 1 P.M. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somervillewith Bro. Ken Culver, pastor of the Warren Community Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed in the Eads Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Bobby was born May 2, 1943 in Eads. He was preceded in death by his parents, JT Crook and Mamie Johnson Crook. He was a graduate of Collierville High School. Bobby served his country in the United States Army and was employed with MQS, Incorporated as an industrial x-ray technician for a number of years before his retirement. He was a devoted husband, father, coach and paw-paw. He was a member of the Eads Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting and bird dogs. Bobby loved to play and coach baseball and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Team.
In addition to his wife of 46 years, Bobby leaves his daughter, Kim Bookout (Heath) of Collierville; his son, Chris Crook (Laura) of Round Rock, TX; three sisters, Francis Holden (Arthur) of Eads, Edith Joyner (Paul) of Eads, Linda Hopkins of Eads; two brothers, Wendell Crook (Bernie) of Somerville, Thurston Crook (Sandy) of Savannah; and five grandchildren, Elyssa, Ivy, Rebekah, Luke and JT.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde Crook, Cletus Crook and Wade Crook.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Brian Hopkins, Jonathan Crook, Brandon Johnson, Jeremy Ford, Jeff Avant and Heath Bookout.
