Bobby Cyle Feathers, Jr.

November 11, 1957 — December 20, 2013

Bobby Cyle Feathers, Jr., resident of the Somerville Community and husband of Lynne Feathers departed this life Friday morning, December 20, 2013 at the Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis where he had been a patient for 13 days. He was 56 years of age and died following a brief illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Feathers were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, December 23rd at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with his brother-in-law, Steve Ricker, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Feathers was born November 11, 1957 in Fayette County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Cyle Feathers, Sr. and Doloris Marie Sigler Feathers. He received his education in the Shelby County Public School System and was a graduate of Treadwell High School Class of 1975. He was married August 12, 1989 to the former Lynne Ellen Boxdorfer, an administrative assistant for Methodist Hospice, who survives.

Mr. Feathers was a member of the Church of Christ and was employed in the sales department of Consolidated Electrical Distributors in Memphis for over 22 years before retiring this year for health reasons. He will be remembered as a person who loved outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His personality and concern for others made him a special friend to all that he came in contact with.

In addition to his wife of 24 years, Mr. Feathers is survived by two sisters, Ann Ricker (Steve) of Smyrna, TN, Lynn Smith (Stephen) of Phenix City, AL and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were J.B. Smith, Steve Ricker, Stephen Smith, Clifford Smith, Michael Jolly and Curt Peeler.
