Bobby Levoyde West

Bobby Levoyde West, age 76, resident of Brownsville and husband of the late Ellen Elizabeth Morris West, departed this life Wednesday evening, June 29, 2016 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. West were conducted at 3 P.M. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at The Christ Church in Brownsville with Eddie Martin officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. West was born February 8, 1940 in Brownsville. He received his education in the Haywood County Public School System and was married May 17, 1982 to the former Ellen Morris, a native of Fayette County. He served his country in the United States National Guard and was employed as an auto body mechanic for a number of years before his retirement. Mr. West was a member of The Christ Church in Brownsville and enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching westerns on television.

Mr. West is survived by his son, Billy Lynn West and his wife, Martha, of Brandon, Mississippi; his daughter, Lisa White of Brownsville; his sister, Peggy Staggs and her husband, Leon, of Brownsville; his brother, Jerry West and his wife, Doris, of Brownsville; five grandchildren, Hannah West, Sharon White, J.D. West, Ashley West, Amber West; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Elizabeth Morris West who died May 25, 2006 and his parents, Stacy West and Hope Jones West.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Jerry Oliver, Richard Gray, Kenneth McBride, Bradley White, Ryan Sims and Bobby McCage.
