Bonnie Fay Burch Compton, age 76, resident of Cordova, retired medical technician and wife of the late Ralph S. Compton died Wednesday morning, January 23, 2013 at the Methodist Hospital in Germantown.
Services for Mrs. Compton will be at 10 Monday morning at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with interment in the Ebenezer Cemetery at Williston. A visitation for Mrs. Compton will be from 6 to 8 Sunday evening at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Compton was born August 3, 1936 in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Wesley Burch and Cratie Adaline Jacobs Burch. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and moved to the Memphis area for over 55 years. She was a devoted member of the Trinity Baptist Church and was employed as an x-ray technician in the Memphis area for many years.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and working with her hands. Mrs. Compton was devoted to her family, friends and her church. She will be remembered as a caring and giving person who always had a wonderful attitude despite her illness.
Mrs. Compton is survived by her twin brother, Billy Ray Burch (Mary) of Dresden, TN; twin nieces, Teresa Burden of Martin, TN, Melesa Eldridge of Texas; her nephew, Scott Butch of Dresden, TN; her stepdaughter, Debbie Stroupe (Charlie) of Paradise Valley, AZ; two step granddaughters, Sara and Whitney; and two step grandsons, Jeff and Zack.
Mrs. Compton was preceded in death by her first husband, Wesley Pilcher and her second husband, Ralph Compton.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Trinity Baptist Church, 8899 Trinity Road, Cordova, TN 38018.
