1924—2012

Bonnie Parish Dudley, resident of the Hickory Withe Community, retired nurse and former resident of Memphis and Munford died Monday morning, February 6, 2012 at her residence. She was 88 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services Honoring the Life of Mrs. Dudley were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, February 9th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Emil Rieben of Munford officiating. Interment followed in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Germantown Parkway at Bartlett. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — West Chapel of Oakland.

Mrs. Dudley was born February 24, 1924 in Vardaman, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Thomas Parish and Lillie Putnam Parish. Mrs. Dudley received her education in the Vardaman County Public School System and was a graduate of the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Memphis.

Mrs. Dudley served as a nurse and health care provider in the Memphis area and was associated with Bright Glade Convalescent Center, St. Joseph Hospital and St. Francis Hospital for number of years before her retirement. She was former resident of the Memphis and Munford areas before moving to Fayette County. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James L. McQuary and George Dudley.

A member of the Atoka First Baptist Church and a former Sunday School Teacher, Mrs. Dudley had a lifelong love of music. She and her late husband enjoyed singing with area gospel groups and for church activities throughout their lives. Mrs. Dudley will be remembered as a caregiver to others and devoted to her family. She enjoyed animals and gardening as long as health permitted.

Mrs. Dudley is survived by daughters: Deborah “Debbie” Norton (Jim) of Hickory Withe, Judith “Judy” Ernst (Don) of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters: Gay Sawner of Olive Branch, MS, Edith Robinson of West Point, MS; one brother: Thurman Parish of West Point, MS; three grandchildren: Todd Norton of Oakland, Richard Eaves, stationed with the of U. S. Navy in Japan, Brett Eaves of Las Vegas and three great grandchildren,.

Casketbearers were family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, 498 Halle Park Drive, Suite 102, Collierville, TN 38017.
