Bonnie Diggs Hopkins, age 87, resident of Oakland, Tennessee, departed this life Monday afternoon, March 3, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee.
Bonnie was born April 30, 1937 in Moscow, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Henry Earl Diggs and Annie Marina Sherman Diggs. She graduated from Fayette County High School in 1956 and was employed as an x-ray technologist for over 40 years with Dr. VI Smith before her retirement. Bonnie was a member of First Baptist Church in Somerville and enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, reading and caring for her family. She will be remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
Ms. Hopkins is survived by her daughter, Laura Michelle Jaquess of Lakeland, TN; five sons, John Tyler (Charlotte) of Millington, TN, Jimmy Tyler (Deborah) of Medon, TN, Philip Tyler (Michelle) of Oakland, TN, Steven Hopkins (Lisa) of Milan, TN and Steven Hopkins II of Oakland, TN; and three grandsons, Jeff Tyler, Shawn Tyler and Noah Jaquess.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Edna Fortune, Marcelle Rogers, Mae Barnett and Pat Price; her brother, Gordon Diggs; and her daughter-in-law, Deborah.
Graveside Services for Ms. Hopkins were held at 11 A.M. Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Evergreen Cemetery in Williston, Tennessee.
