Elizabeth Ann “Bonnie” Hardin, resident of the Somerville Community and wife of Milton Ray Hardin died Wednesday evening, April 13, 2011 at her residence on LaGrange Road. She was 64 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hardin were conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday, April 16th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Paul Wright, pastor of the Victory Life Assembly of God Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Hardin was born June 1, 1946 in Oxford, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Warren Callahan and Evelyn Perkins Callahan. Mrs. Hardin was educated in the Mississippi Public School System and was married July 2, 1960 to Milton Ray Hardin, well known retired Fayette County Plumbing Company owner, who survives.
She was of the Baptist Faith and was a devoted homemaker throughout her life who was also employed by the Somerville Manufacturing Company for 20 years before her retirement. She had a lifelong love of nature and outdoor activities that included fishing, boating and hunting. Mrs. Hardin will be remembered for her strong work ethic and a people person who enjoyed humor.
In addition to her husband of 50 years, Mrs. Hardin is survived by her daughter: Cindy Snell (Raymond) of Macon; her sons: Curtis Hardin (Cynthia) of Williston, Billy Joe Hardin (Angel) of Whiteville; her sister: Ella Sims (Bill) of Red Boiling Springs, TN; her brothers: Harold Gene Callahan of Pascagoula, MS, Billy Warren Callahan of Winter Gardens, FL, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Dillion Nix, Jason Hardin, Matt Garrison, Brandon Chandler, Gwen Logan and Terry Logan.
Honorary casketbearers were David Lynn Callahan and Ronnie Lee Logan.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, 50 N. Dunlap, Memphis, TN 38103.
