Brenda Kaye Hoskins Kirk, known to many as “Meme”, age 59, resident of Somerville and wife of Tim Kirk, departed this life Tuesday morning, April 26, 2016 at her residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Kirk were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Kenya Malone officiating. Interment followed in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery at Laconia. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Kirk was born March 24, 1957 in Somerville. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a lifelong resident of the Somerville area. She was married March 21, 1992 to Timothy V. Kirk and was employed as the cafeteria manager for the Fayette County School System. Mrs. Kirk was of the Church of God faith and she enjoyed preparing food, gong to flea markets and traveling to Orange Beach, Alabama. Attending events with her grandchildren was a special part of Mrs. Kirk’s life.
Mrs. Kirk is survived by her husband of 24 years, Tim Kirk of Somerville; two sons, Josh Smith and his wife, Tina, of Somerville, Alex Kirk and his wife, Kelsey, of Middleton; five brothers, Cecil Hoskins, Jr. and his wife, Geraldine, of Somerville, Jimmy Hoskins and his wife, Shirley, of Somerville, Larry Hoskins of Somerville, Ricky Hoskins and his wife, Marie, of Somerville, Kenneth Hoskins and his wife, Tammy, of Somerville; and four grandchildren, A.J. Smith, Gracie Gott, Jenna Kirk and Tori Kirk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Hoskins, Sr. and Sarah Bell Kee Hoskins and two sisters, Elizabeth Parker and Linda Young.
Pallbearers were family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Association, c/o Reba Dowdy, 900 Railroad Drive, Somerville, TN 38068.
