Brenda Louise McKee Mercer, resident of the Hickory Withe Community, former Macy’s Department Store employee and wife of Eddie Mercer died at her residence on Thursday afternoon, July 7, 2011.
Services Honoring the Life of Mrs. Mercer were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 15 th at the Bible Missionary Baptist Church in Wilmington, Ohio with Dr. Kurtis Summerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Sabina Cemetery in Wilmington, Ohio and local arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes – West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Mercer was a native of Wilmington, Ohio and was born November 11, 1956 the daughter of Evelyn Washington McKee and Robert W. McKee of Wilmington. She was a 1976 graduate of Wilmington High School and attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and Arizona College in Phoenix, Arizona. Mrs. Mercer was married September 30, 1989 to Eddie N. Mercer, who survives. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a resident of Ohio and Florida before moving to Fayette County five years ago. Mrs. Mercer enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and was an avid traveler.
In addition to her parents and husband of 22 years, Mrs. Mercer is survived by four sisters, a brother and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Fayette County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Baptist Hospice Organization in Memphis or to the Wings of Cancer Foundation.
