Brunell “Maw” Spencer Boshers, resident of the Elba Community in Fayette County and well-known as a volunteer for the West Fayette County Fire Department, departed this life Friday morning, January 31, 2014 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis where she had been a patient for two days. She was 79 years of age and died following an illness of four months.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Boshers were conducted at 10 A.M. Monday, February 3rd at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Thomas Foy, pastor of the Kirk Baptist Church, officiating. Personal remarks were given by her son, Jimmy Blann. Interment followed in the Memory Hill Gardens Cemetery at Bartlett. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Boshers was born January 22, 1935 in Sardis, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Vernon Spencer and Ada Belk Spencer. She received her education in the Sardis, Mississippi Public School System and was married February 24, 1978 to Wilton “Bo” Boshers, a person also well-known for his involvement in firefighting, who survives.
In addition to her husband of almost 36 years, Mrs. Boshers is survived by two sons, Jimmy Blann of Southaven, MS, Gregg Blann of Southaven, MS; her brother, Benny Leroy Spencer of Sardis, MS; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ken Blann and her grandson, Cory Blann.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were members of the Fayette County Fire Department Station # 10.
