Carolyn Grace (Thompson) Fowler

November 3, 1943 — November 28, 2017

Carolyn Grace Thompson Fowler, age 74, resident of Somerville, Tennessee and wife of the late Bobby Gene Fowler, Sr., departed this life Tuesday afternoon, November 28, 2017 at her residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Fowler were conducted at 7 P.M. Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Pollard Chapel at Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova, Tennessee with Bro. Dave Burroughs, a minister and founder of Sheltering Tree Ranch in Savannah, Tennessee, officiating. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Fowler was born November 3, 1943 in Savannah, Tennessee. She received her education in the Hardin County, Tennessee School System and was a former resident of Memphis, Tennessee before moving to Fayette County twelve years ago. She was married September 9, 1961 to Bobby Gene Fowler, Sr. and was employed for over 35 years as a phlebotomist and patient care assistant for Baptist Healthcare Systems before her retirement.

Mrs. Fowler was a devoted Christian. She was member of Bellevue Baptist Church and loved celebrating Christmas. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, working in her yard and special times with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid Memphis State University sports fan.

Mrs. Fowler is survived by her daughter, Teresa Malito of Kansas City, MO; her son, Bobby Gene Fowler, Jr. (Karen) of Somerville, TN; her sister, Sharon Webb Clearman of Atoka, TN; three brothers, James E. Thompson (Margaret) of Savannah, TN, Louis W. “Peewee” Thompson of Savannah, TN, Johnny Thompson (Beth) of Savannah, TN; five grandchildren, Justin, Ali, Brandon, Ari, Ashton; and two great-grandchildren, Alaina and Levi.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Fowler, Sr. who died September 24, 2015; her parents, John Albert Thompson and Cleo Northcutt Thompson; and her sister, Freda Foster.
