Carolyn Omie Culver Johnson, resident of Atlanta, Georgia and native of the Macon Community in Fayette County, Tennessee, departed this life Wednesday, September 19, 2018.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Johnson were held at 1 P.M. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Larry Tubb, pastor of the Macon United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Macon Cemetery in the Macon Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Johnson was born September 17, 1929 in the Macon Community of Fayette County. She was a graduate of Fayette County High School and was a resident of Memphis before moving to Georgia eight years ago. She was employed with the Baptist Hospital Systems in Memphis for many years before her retirement and was a caretaker for the elderly until the age of 80. Mrs. Johnson was married to Ervin "Hubert' Johnson who preceded her in death in 1971. She was of the Methodist faith and loved being involved with her church family. She enjoyed cooking, working with flowers and vegetables and being with her family.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son, Ervin Johnson of Atlanta, GA; her sister, Ola Davis of Oak Ridge, TN; and her brother, Garner Culver of Somerville, TN. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.
