Carolyn Ann Glenn Lowrance, resident of Jackson, Tennessee and wife of Kenneth Ray Lowrance, Sr., departed this life Thursday morning, April 24, 2014 at her residence. She was 58 years of age and died following an illness of five months.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Lowrance were conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, April 30th at the New Life Tabernacle in Jackson with Bro. Travis Grimsley officiating. Interment followed in the Maple Springs Cemetery near Mercer, Tennessee. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Lowrance was born November 6, 1955 in Bolivar. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond Osborn Glenn and Novie Cornelius Bryum Glenn. She was a resident of Hardeman County before moving to Madison County at an early age where received her education in the Madison County Public School System. She was married September 11, 1978 to Kenneth Ray Lowrance, Sr., who survives.
Mrs. Lowrance was employed in food service for much of her life and was a well-known waitress for the Bonwood Café in Jackson, Tennessee for over 25 years before retiring six months ago for health reasons. She was a Christian and will be remembered for her love and devotion for her family and for her many friends that she enjoyed serving at the restaurant. Crafts, crocheting and yard sales were favorite pastimes of Mrs. Lowrance.
In addition to her husband of 35 years, Mrs. Lowrance is also survived by two daughters, Kimberly Howard of Jackson, TN, Eva Ann Bray Woodall of Jackson, TN; two sons, Kenneth Ray Lowrance, Jr. of Jackson, TN, James Henry Bray, Jr. of Mississippi; two sisters, Shenna Chambers of Jackson, TN, Penny Smith of Jackson, TN; three brothers, Johnny Glenn of Jackson, TN, Carl Glenn of Jackson, TN, Jimmy Glenn of Jackson, TN; fifteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Glenn; and two grandsons, Jauger Bray and Kyle Lowrance.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Jimmy Glenn, Jr., Albert Plodzine, Brandon Glenn, Christopher Glenn, Michael Arnold, Bruce Stewart and Ronny Howard.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the First Baptist Church of Bemis, 116 Bemis Lane, Jackson, TN 38301.
