CAROLYN ALLEN MOSLEY, a resident of Memphis and retired business owner with extended family members in Fayette County, died at 8:50 P.M. Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the Mid-South Health & Rehabilitation Center in Memphis. She was 76 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mosley were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, November 17th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Roy Hendrick of the Central Church in Collierville, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Mosley was born December 24, 1931 in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Ray Edwin Allen and the late Mary Paralee Hutchins Allen.
She moved to Memphis at an early age and was educated in the Shelby County Public School System. Mrs. Mosley was a Christian and had been a resident of the Memphis area for sixty-eight years. She was a retired business owner and in earlier years had operated Notary On Wheels in Memphis before her retirement.
Mrs. Mosley will be remembered as an avid reader who enjoyed computer technology.
Survivors of Mrs. Mosley include her daughter, Carol Holmes of Germantown; three sons: Kevin Lee Mosley (Angela) of Olive Branch, MS; Stephen Mosley (Pat) of Rosemark, TN and Robert Lee Mosley (Debbie) of Oakland; two sisters, Janet Smith of Germantown and Evelyn Morgan of Southaven; one brother, Edwin Allen of Middletown, CN and twelve grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Jim Brigman, Corky Mason and Derek Myers.
