CAROLYN VIRGINIA WARE RUSSELL

CAROLYN VIRGINIA WARE RUSSELL, a resident of the Eads Community, native of Fayette County and wife of Eberl Russell died at 8:18 A.M. Monday, November 10, 2008 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett where she was taken after becoming suddenly ill at her residence. She was 76 years of age and died unexpectedly.

Funeral services for Mrs. Russell were conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, November 12th at the Old Union Nazarene Church in the Thaxton Community near Pontotoc, Mississippi, with Brother Joe Morse officiating. Interment followed in the Old Union Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.

Mrs. Russell was born March 7, 1932 in the Macon Community of Fayette County, the daughter of the late Anthony Eugene Ware and the late Jessie Beatrice Bobbitt Ware, early residents of the Macon Community. She was educated in the Fayette County Public School System and in Memphis where she graduated from the Treadwell High School.

She was married December 16, 1950 to Eberl Russell, who served as a Manager for Proctor and Gamble/Buckeye Corporation in Memphis before his retirement.

Mr. and Mrs. Russell were residents of Memphis for much of their life before moving to the Eads Community fifteen years ago. She was a devoted member of the St. Stephens United Methodist Church in Memphis and of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Russell was a homemaker throughout her life and will be remembered for her love of food preparation and baking; receiving much enjoyment from sharing her homemade delicacies with family, friends and church members.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed special times with her family.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Russell is survived by two sons, Kenneth Russell (Sandy) of Eads and Steve Russell (Debbie) of Germantown; four grandchildren: Kerri Poole, Keeley Asmus, Valerie Norman and Craig Russell and three great-grandchildren: Zachary Poole, Joshua Asmus and Hannah Asmus.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were family members and friends.
