Cathy Lynne (Hatfield) Smith

Cathy Lynne Hatfield Smith, age 63, resident of the Braden Community and wife of the late Thomas Smith, departed this life Saturday evening, November 19, 2022 at her home.

Cathy was born July 21, 1959 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late James Hatfield and Eloise Williams Hatfield. She loved working with children at the daycare where she was a teacher. She enjoyed being with her family and was very dedicated, giving and supportive to them. Cathy enjoyed weekends on the pontoon boat and will be remembered for being a very devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, who they affectionately called “Nanny”.

Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons, Jason Barnett (Michelle) and Jeremy Barnett; her sister, Teresa Moore (Terry); three grandchildren, Bethany, Danielle and Connor; two great-grandchildren, Lawson and Paxton; and three nieces.

Memorial Services for Mrs. Smith were held at 2 P.M. Monday, November 28, 2022 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Mrs. Smith’s cousin, Blake Hatfield, speaking.
