C. DALE SHANKLE LEE
January 7, 1954 — December 25, 2008
CORA DALE SHANKLE LEE, a resident of the Harmontown Community near Como, Mississippi and wife of Roger G. Lee who is a native of Fayette County, died at 6:07 P.M. Thursday, Christmas evening, December 25, 2008 at the North Oak Regional Medical Center in Senatobia, MS. She was 54 years of age and died following a sudden illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lee were conducted at 3 P.M. Sunday, December 28th at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Anthony Vaughn, Pastor of the New Life Baptist Church at Somerville officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Lee was born January 7 1954 in Batesville, Mississippi the daughter of the late James Edward Shankle and the late Minnie House Shankle. She was educated in the Memphis City Public School system and was married January 2, 1976 to Roger G. Lee, a native of Fayette County, who survives.
Mrs. Lee was a homemaker and was a Christian. She had been a resident of the Harmontown Community for the past nineteen years and was a lifelong resident of North Mississippi and West Tennessee.
She was devoted to her family and her interests included bird watching, puzzles and preparing food for special occasions.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lee is survived by three daughters: Ella Dawn Askew (Hugh) of the Harmontown Community; Christy Diane Lee of Horn Lake, MS and Rebecca Ann Lee Starkey of Senatobia, MS; two sisters, Shirley Simpson of Senatobia, MS and Linda Warren of Bethel Springs, TN; her brother, Kenneth Shankle of the Harmontown Community; five grandchildren: Cody, Minnie, Troy, John and Joshua and a number of nieces and nephews.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Tony Massengill, Anthony Shankle, Donny Shankle, James Allen Shankle, Kenny Shankle, Kevin Shankle, Mark Shankle and Cory Warren.
