Cecil Earl "Red" Wilson

Grand Junction, Tennessee

Cecil Earl “Red” Wilson, 81, of Grand Junction, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018. Born January 4, 1937 in Collierville, Tennessee, he was preceded in death by his parents, Gail and Meady Wilson; brother, Buddy Wilson; and sister, Elizabeth Snow.

Cecil was married to Vivien Siler Wilson for 50 years. They have two daughters, Cecilia Lewis (Guy) of Collierville and Cindy Lewis (Chris) of Memphis as well as one granddaughter, Elisabeth Hamner (Brad) of Collierville. He is survived by his brother, Richard Wilson (Jackie); sister, Gail Morrison; cousin, John Drew Stafford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cecil was a graduate of Collierville High School Class of 1956 and was employed as the Waterworks Superintendent for the Town of Grand Junction for many years before his retirement. Previously, he served as Chief of Police for the Town of Grand Junction and was a Hardeman County Sheriff’s Deputy. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Grand Junction and enjoyed time with his family, woodworking, barbecuing and bluegrass music. He could be seen many days at the coffee shop spending time with his many friends.

Funeral Services were conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the First Baptist Church Grand Junction with Bro. Troy Styers, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Grand Junction Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Franklin Stanford, Mitch DeVore, Rick Wilson, Bubsie Thompson, Donnie Henry and Brad Hamner. Honorary pallbearers were Harold Hensley, John Drew Stafford, Pete Leitschuh and Ray Dean Earnest.
