CHARLENE FORBES BANKS, resident of Oklahoma City, OK, former resident of Fayette County and Memphis and wife of Paul Kennon Banks, III died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was 51 years of age and died following a brief, unexpected illness.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Banks are at 2 P.M. Friday, August 26 th at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. John Raiteri of the Macon Road Baptist Church on Highway 64 officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment is in the Macon Cemetery at Macon, Tennessee. Arrangements are provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Banks was born July 10, 1960 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Martha Sue Dillbeck Forbes and Charles E. Forbes, who survives. She received her education at Towering Oaks Baptist School in Mississippi and was married January 23, 1985 to Paul Kennon Banks, III, who survives. Mr. and Mrs. Banks had been resident of Fayette and Shelby Counties, Texas and Oklahoma. She was employed by Malone and Hyde as an accounting clerk.
A Methodist, Mrs. Banks enjoyed the outdoors, camping, nature, and special times with her grandchildren and their pet dog.
Mrs. Banks is survived by her husband of 26 years, Paul Kennon Banks, III of Oklahoma City, OK, three sons, Matthew Banks, Brandon Banks (Summer) and Braxton Banks, all of Oklahoma, her father and stepmother, Charles E. and Slona Forbes of the Macon Community, two brothers, Charles R. “Chuck” Forbes (Stephanie) of Bartlett and Steve Forbes (Debra) of the Macon Community, and two grandchildren, Kiersten Banks and Baylor Banks. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mable Forbess and Everett Forbess.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Macon United Methodist Church, 8740 Highway 193, Oakland, TN 38060.
