Charles Aaron Adams, age 84, resident of the Longtown Community in Somerville, retired taxi cab driver, United States Veteran and husband of Ann McNabb Adams died Sunday evening, February 3, 2013 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Memphis.
Services with Military Honors for Mr. Adams will be at 11 Wednesday morning at the Somerville Church of Christ with visitation one hour before services. Interment will be at a later date in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64 and arrangements will be provided by the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville.
Mr. Adams was born April 14, 1928 in Lexington, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Adams and Leva Roberts Adams. He received his education in the Lexington Public School System and served his country in the United States Army during the World War II Period.
He was a devoted member of the Somerville Church of Christ and was married to the former Ann Dilliard McNabb on July 7, 2007, who survives. Mr. Adams was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, visiting and helping others.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Adams is survived by his daughter, Vickie Smith (Steve) of Memphis; his son, Danny Adams of Lakeland; three sisters, Joan Pratt of Arlington, TX, Janie Hutchinson of Lexington, TN, Mary Ellis of Memphis; three brothers, Tony Adams of Lexington, TN, Newt Adams of Wildersville, TN, Jerry Adams of Appleton, WI; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Adams; two sisters, Martha Sellers, Betty Jo Adams; and two brothers, Billy Adams and Rob W. Adams.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Somerville Church of Christ, 15925 Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068.
