Charles Richard Mauney, age 83, resident of Eads, Tennessee and husband of Sandra “Sandy” Whitlock Mauney, departed this life Wednesday morning, May 23, 2018 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Mauney will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Lakeland, Tennessee with Rev. Mike Morris, pastor of the church, officiating. A visitation for Mr. Mauney will be from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the church. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Mauney was born June 20, 1934 in Norphlet, Arkansas. He was a graduate of Norphlet High School and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He served his country in the United States Army and was employed as a store manager for J.C. Penney before retiring in 1992. Mr. Mauney was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Lakeland.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Mauney of Eads, TN; his daughter, Kim Ridenhour (Wayne) of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Harriet Aiken of Camden, AR, Rosemary Steely of Magnolia, AR; his brother, James Mauney of Little Rock, AR; and his grandson, William Ridenhour.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Roy Mauney and Anna Blanche Collins Mauney his daughter, Jennifer Mauney who died in 1987; his sister, Ann Davis; and two brothers, Jerry Mauney and Frank Mauney.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Fayette County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, c/o Christine Parks, 401 Midland Street, Somerville, TN 38068.
