Charles Ronald "Ronnie" Meek, age 61, resident of the Braden Community and United States Veteran, departed this life Wednesday evening, December 3, 2014 at his residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Meek were conducted at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, December 7th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Dr. James M. Latimer, pastor of the Redeemer Evangelical Church in Collierville, officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed in the Walls Cemetery in the Braden Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Meek was born November 27, 1953 in the Panama Canal Zone, the son of Sarah McCulley Meek and the late Charles Escue Meek. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and Braden School. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was a resident of the Braden Community for much of his life. Mr. Meek served as a hardwood floor installer for a number of years before his retirement. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed boating, preparing food and barbecuing.
Mr. Meek is survived by his daughter, Becky Lovell (Mike) of Mason, TN; his son, Lee Meek (Taylor) of Covington, TN; his mother, Sarah Meek of Mason, TN; his sister, Melinda Reed (Joe) of Memphis, TN; his brother, David Booth (Jocelyn) of St. Charles, IL; and three grandchildren, Tyler Lovell, Allice Grace Lovell and Wyatt Meek.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Angelo Taverna, Roy Williams, Shannon McCulley, Dennis Meek, Carl Hill and Dennis Hill.
