Charles Wayne Chambers

Charles Wayne Chambers, resident of the Hickory Withe Community, retired real estate agent and husband of Linda Johnson Chambers, departed this life Wednesday morning, February 5, 2014 at his residence. He was 70 years of age and died following an illness of one year.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Chambers were conducted at 10 A.M. Saturday, February 8th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Ronnie Hayse of Memphis officiating. Special music was provided by Debbie Busby. Interment followed in the Milledgeville Cemetery in McNairy County. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Chambers was born December 4, 1943 in Memphis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Chambers and Ruth Lee Davis Chambers. He received his education in the Crittenden County, Arkansas Public School System and was married April 12, 1963 to the former Linda Johnson, a native of Milledgeville, who survives. Mr. Chambers had resided for most of his life in Memphis, Shelby County and Milledgeville areas.
In earlier years, he had owned and operated the Bluff City Heating & Air Conditioning Company in Memphis and in later years, was a self-employed real estate agent in West Tennessee before his retirement five years ago. He was also associated with his daughter, Loretta Martin, in the Martin Real Estate Agency in Fayette County.
Mr. Chambers was a devoted member of the Hope Apostolic Church in the Raleigh Community of Shelby County. He was an avid hunter in earlier years and will be remembered as a person devoted to his family and his faith.
In addition to his wife of almost 50 years, Mr. Chambers is survived by his daughter, Loretta Martin (Jim) of Hickory Withe; two sons, Frank Chambers (Sabrina) of Oakland, Brandon Chambers (Amber) of Hickory Withe; five grandchildren, Cassie Smith (Scotty), Taylor Martin (Chelse Spicer), Jade Alberson, Dalton Chambers (Kelley), Madison Chambers; and three great grandchildren, Charles Wyatt Smith, Savannah Smith and Kennedy Smith (Peanut).
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Frank Chambers, Brandon Chambers, Dalton Chambers, Jim Martin, Taylor Martin and Scotty Smith.
