Charles David “Charlie” Liberto, resident of Memphis with extended family members in Fayette County and husband of the late Nancy Liberto died Wednesday morning, August 22, 2012 at his residence. He was 57 years of age and died unexpectedly of natural causes.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Liberto were conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, August 28th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Loyd Shelton of Rossville officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64 near Oakland. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Liberto was born October 5, 1954 in Memphis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Hubert Liberto and Robbie Jewel Edmonds Liberto. He received his education in the Shelby County Public School System and was a 1974 Graduate of the Kingsbury High School in Memphis. He was married July 9, 1998 to the former Nancy Marie Kimbriel, who preceded him in death on October 28, 2011. He was employed as a Butcher for the Kroger Corporation in Memphis at the time of his death.
Mr. Liberto was of the Baptist faith and will be remembered for his love of outdoor activities that included fishing, camping and automobile racing. He enjoyed racing go-carts in past years and received much pleasure for caring for his canine companions, Lacy, Penny and Chloe.
Mr. Liberto is survived by two daughters, Michelle Liberto, Nickie Floyd of Walls, MS; his sons, Joey Liberto (Christen) of Memphis, Robert Floyd of Cordova; his sister, Linda Baum of Mt. Pleasant, MS; and his brother, Larry Anthony Liberto (Virginia) of Victoria, MS.
Casketbearers were family members and friends. The family requests that memorials be directed to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265.
