Charlie Overton

Charles Earnest “Charlie” Overton, age 71, resident of Cordova and husband of the late Suzanne Fields Overton, departed this life Wednesday evening, August 15, 2018 at the Grace Healthcare Center in Cordova.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Overton was held at 2 P.M. Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Carl Doyle of Oakland officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Overton was born January 5, 1947 in Shelby County, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Fayette County High School and Ole Miss School of Pharmacy. He was married July 10, 1976 to the former Suzanne Leigh Fields and he was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Overton was employed as a pharmacist for many years before his retirement in 2008. He was a resident of the Cordova area for the last 25 years.

Mr. Overton is survived by his son, Andy Overton (Kristen) of Cordova, TN; his sister, Sandra Myers (Ralph) of Somerville, TN; and his grandson, Johnathon Hyde Overton.

He was preceded in death by his wife who died January 20, 2017, Suzanne Leigh Fields Overton; his parents, Earnest Fort Overton and Margaret Woody Overton; and two sons, John Patrick Overton and Michael Cory Overton.
