Charlotte (Brooks) Whitten
April 6, 1925 — December 23, 2017
Charlotte Brooks Whitten, age 92, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and wife of the late Joe Henson Whitten, passed into the arms of her Lord on Saturday, December 23, 2017.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Whitten were conducted at 11 A.M. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Ron Harvey, pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Bartlett, Tennessee, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Whitten is survived by her daughter, Darnell Miller (John) of Hernando, MS; two sons, Mike Whitten (Anne) of Bartlett, TN, Joe Whitten of Oakland, TN; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life for 72 years, Joe Henson Whitten who died May 6, 2015; her parents, Hollis and Abetine Brooks; her sister, Vernice Pollard; and two brothers, Bobby and Tommy Brooks.
“Miss” Charlotte was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Grace Baptist Church, 3275 Brunswick Road, Bartlett, TN 38133.
