Cherryl Diane Gilliland Graham, age 67, resident of Ripley, Tennessee and retired school teacher, departed this life Thursday afternoon, May 5, 2016 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.
Services of Remembrance for Ms. Graham were conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 with Brother Paul H. Mullikin officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Ms. Graham was born April 27, 1949 in Gates, Tennessee. She received her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Memphis and was a lifelong resident of the West Tennessee area. She was employed as a school teacher for the Fayette and Lauderdale County School Systems before her retirement. Ms. Graham was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ripley, Tennessee and enjoyed special times with her family, preparing food, gardening, fishing and golfing.
Ms. Graham is survived by her son, Dade Graham and his wife, Ashley, of Somerville; her mother, Frances Edwards Gilliland of Ripley, Tennessee; her brother, Rick Gilliland and his wife, Diane, of Dyersburg, Tennessee; and three grandchildren, Jensen Graham, Gavin Graham and Channing Graham.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Gilliland.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Ricky McQueen, Tommy Riles, Carl Tuffy Ford, David Douglas, Win Moore and Layne Dawson. Honorary pallbearers included Butch Baker and Tim Self.
