Cheryl Denise Craig

July 4, 1963 — December 20, 2011

Cheryl Denise Craig, resident of the Somerville Community and valued employee of the Wendy’s International Corporation departed this life Tuesday morning, December 20, 2011 at the Methodist North Hospital in Memphis. She was 48 years of age and died unexpectedly from natural causes after becoming suddenly ill at her employment.

Services of Remembrance for Miss Craig will be conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, December 23rd at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements are provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — West Chapel of Oakland.

Miss Craig was born July 4, 1963 in Memphis, the daughter of Robert Earl Craig and Betty Jo Denton Craig. She was educated in the Memphis Public School System and was a 1982 honors graduate of Bartlett High School. She continued her education in Memphis and received her Masters of Science degree in Accounting with highest honors from the University of Memphis.

Miss Craig was a resident of Oakland for 18 years before moving to Somervillle 8 years ago. She had been employed by the Wendy’s Corporation in Bartlett for the past 13 years as a Customer Service Representative and was of the Baptist faith. She will be remembered as a family oriented person who assisted in providing care for her parents. Favorite pastimes included cooking and food shows on television and watching movies. She had a great love for animals and received much pleasure from caring for her ever-present canine companions, “Fred the Bassett Hound” and “Naudia the Pit Bull”.

Miss Craig is survived by her parents, Robert and Betty Jo Craig of Somerville; her sister, Jennifer Craig Pickard of Somerville; two nephews, Cody Craig, Robbie Pickard; and her great niece, Rayna Craig.

T hose honored to serve as casketbearers were family members and friends.
