Cheryl Dean (Edwards) Williams

Cheryl Dean Edwards Williams, age 73, resident of the Hickory Withe Community and wife of Joe T. Williams, departed this life Thursday morning, June 26, 2014 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Services for Mrs. Williams were conducted at 10 A.M. Saturday, June 28th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Gregg Moffitt, a minister of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Arlington, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Williams was born June 24, 1941 in Akron, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fulton Reed Edwards and Delores Fischer Edwards. She received her education in the Clinton County, Ohio Public School System and was a graduate of Cuba High School Class of 1959. She was married August 9, 1959 to Joe Thomas Williams, who survives.

Mrs. Williams was a resident of the Hickory Withe Community for 44 years and she was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Arlington. She served as a manager for the Quality Stamp Store and was also employed with Malone & Hyde in Memphis before her retirement. She enjoyed attending church, playing the piano and preparing food for her family and friends. Mrs. Williams will be remembered as a people-person who had no enemies.

In addition to her husband of almost 55 years, Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter, Kellye Angelici of Cordova; her son, Jeffrey Reed Williams (Anita) of Springfield, MO; her sister, Janice Edwards Easley of Mayfield, KY; and two grandchildren, Chad McCall and Kelly McCall.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rita Suiter Blalock.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Terry Miller, Don Hogan, Danny Hogan, Jeff Mills, Brian Purdy and Hank Hotchkins.
