Chester Allen Glover

November 4, 1952 — April 18, 2011

Chester Allen Glover, resident of the Somerville Community, United States Veteran and retired Convenience Store Manager died Monday evening, April 18, 2011 at the Regional Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee where he had been a patient for four days. He was 58 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Glover were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, April 22nd at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. John Ed Watkins pastor of Morris Chapel Baptist Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Perry Cemetery at Laconia. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes — Main Chapel of Somerville .

A native of Somerville, Mr. Glover was born November 4, 1952. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Eugene Glover, Sr. and Viola Kee Glover. Mr. Glover received his education in the Fayette and Shelby county public school systems and served in the United States Army. In earlier years Mr. Glover was employed in the heating and air conditioning industry and in recent years was employed as a Convenience Store Manager in Somerville and Dyersburg. He was of the Christian faith and was a lifelong resident of West Tennessee. Mr. Glover will be remembered for his love of music and family gatherings.

Mr. Glover is survived by his son, Billy Joe Glover of Alabama; two sisters: Carolyn McClure of Mt. Pleasant, MS and Cynthia Hardin of Williston; five brothers, Herman Glover of Somerville that he had resided with for the past eight years, Billy Glover of Bradford, TN, David Ray Freeman of Somerville, Rueben Freeman of Macon, Carl Freeman of Somerville. His survivors also include his grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Casketbearers were family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the Perry Cemetery Association, c/o Carol Glover, 7050 Highway 76, Somerville, TN 38068.
