Chieko (Noguchi) Price

February 20, 1928 — July 13, 2013

Chieko Noguchi Price, resident of the Hickory Withe Community and wife of John Marlow Price departed this life Saturday morning, July 13, 2013 at her residence. She was 85 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Price were conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday, July 16th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Charles Ash of Arlington officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Price was born February 20, 1928 in Tokyo, Japan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Denji Noguchi and Sui Yamaguchi; two sisters, Tomoko Noguchi and Etsuko Matsui; and two brothers, Heihachi Noguchi and Kazunobu Noguchi. She received her education in the Japanese School System and was married to John Marlow Price, a careerperson in the Army, Navy and Air Force, who survives.

Mr. and Mrs. Price lived in many locations during Mr. Price’s military career and  returned to Fayette County in 1967. She was a homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and special times with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a dedicated and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, Mrs. Price is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Koi Kennedy (Michael) of Arlington, TN, Jana Sui Zacher (John) of Collierville; two sons, John Marlow Price, Jr. (Nancy) of Huntsville, AL, Martin Glen Price (Deborah) of Martin, TN; three sisters, Miwa, Fusako, Hiroyo; ten grandchildren, Adam Price, John Price, James Price, Jackson Price, Tyler Price, Charles Kennedy, Michelle Warren, Marlow Harris, Courtney McKay, Allison Price; and four great grandchildren, Ava Price, Finley Price, Kaiden Price and Noah Price. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Mrs. Price's grandsons.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
