Laura Christine Leatherwood Tacker, age 85, resident of Moscow, Tennessee and wife of the late J.T. Tacker, departed this life Friday afternoon, January 31, 2025 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville, Tennessee.
Christine was born October 22, 1939 in Moscow, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Bynum Leatherwood and Minnie Odell Cheek Leatherwood. She was married March 31, 1989 to J.T. Tacker who preceded her in death on June 3, 2017. Christine was a member of Forty-Five Baptist Church in Moscow and enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling to the mountains in East Tennessee and family reunions she attended every July.
Mrs. Tacker is survived by her daughter, Bekki Shaw (Wayne); her son, Phil Skelton; four sisters, Bonnie Byrd, Debra Seale, Judy Pepper and Edna Cryer (Buddy); two brothers, Bill Leatherwood (Ann) and Virgil Leatherwood (Jeanette); four grandchildren, Kevin Shaw (Jessi), Brittny Pannell (Pace), Justin Shaw and Heather Skelton; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Shaw, Delana Rawlings (Kevin), Elsa Brandon and Charleigh Fussell; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Georgia Walls, Mary Myers and Ruby Tacker and four brothers, John Leatherwood, Bud Leatherwood, June Leatherwood and Jack Leatherwood.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Tacker were held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Forty-Five Cemetery in Moscow with Bro. Wayne Hodge officiating.
