Christopher Curtis Dykes, resident of the Oakland Community and son of Kimberly Dykes Jones, departed this life Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Methodist Fayette Hospital. He was four years of age.
Services of Remembrance for Christopher were conducted at 4:30 P.M., Wednesday, May 14th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bishop Adam Robertson of the Arlington Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. Personal remarks were given by Jill Vaughn, Mark Twilla and Phil Mitchell. Special music was provided by Ruth Robertson, Jane Vogel and Liz Klepko. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Christopher was born February 27, 2010 in Germantown, Tennessee, the son of Kimberly Dykes Jones and Christopher Franklin Lewallen. During his lifetime, he had resided with his family in the Oakland Community.
Christopher is survived by his mother, Kimberly Dykes Jones of Oakland; his father, Chris Lewallen of Hoxie, Arkansas; his maternal grandmother, Sheilah Dykes of Oakland; his paternal grandparents, Maryann Lewallen of New Jersey, Robert Lewallen of Bartlett; and aunts and uncles, Dee Dee Brown, Mark Twilla, Felisha Logan, Logan Dykes, Brad and Gill Vaughn, Joe and Mary Vaughn, Judy and Gary Harrington, Lester Abrams and Rob Lewallen.
The family requests that memorials be directed to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 41817, Memphis, TN 38174.
