CINDY ELAINE STEWARD JOHNSON

August 27, 1977 — January 7, 2009

CYNTHIA ELAINE STEWARD JOHNSON, a resident of Highway 194 in the Lambert Community of Fayette County, Wal-Mart Associate and wife of Jason Johnson died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Delta Medical Center in Memphis where she had been a patient for two days. She was 31 years of age and died unexpectedly.

Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson were conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, January 10th at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Eddie Little, Pastor of the Hickory Withe First Baptist Church, officiating. He was assisted by Mrs. Johnson's brother-in-law, Rev. Tony Watkins of Moscow. Interment followed in the Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Covington, TN. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Johnson was born August 27, 1977 in Fayette County, the daughter of Robert Gordon Steward, Sr. of Fayette County and Sheila Diann Smith Steward of Tipton County. She was educated in the Fayette County Public School System and was a graduate of the Fayette Ware High School in Somerville. Mrs. Johnson was married February 8, 2005 to Jason Johnson, an employee of the Gateway Tire Corporation in Memphis, who survives.

Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and also employed as an Associate at the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Highway 64 at Bartlett. She was a member of the Hickory Withe First Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of the Fayette County area. She was a family-oriented person who was devoted to her loved ones and enjoyed music and outdoor activities.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter, Alaina Jade Johnson of the home; her parents, Robert and Sheila Steward of Somerville; two sisters, Sheila Watkins and Candy Lynn Henderson, both of Moscow and her brother, Robert G. Steward, Jr. of Bolivar.

Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Wes Burke, John Franklin, Stevie Keenum, Jeffery K. Smith, Keith Smith, Robert Steward, III, Matthew Watkins and Timothy Watkins.
