Claudine (Chambers) Hines

April 18, 1916 — July 25, 2013

Claudine Chambers Hines, longtime resident of Fayette County, retired employee of Kimberly Clark Corporation in Memphis and wife of the late Joe Hines departed this life Thursday evening, July 25, 2013 at the Dove Health Care Center in Collierville where she had resided for three weeks. She was 97 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Hines were conducted at 11 A.M. Monday, July 29th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Chris Coil of the Somerville Church of Christ officiating. Interment followed in the Macon Cemetery in Macon, Tennessee. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Hines was born April 18, 1916 in the Moscow Community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Chambers and Elizabeth Wade Chambers. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a lifelong resident of the Moscow, Somerville and Macon Communities.

Mrs. Hines was a member of the Somerville Church of Christ and was employed for a number of years by the Kimberly Clark Corporation in Memphis. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed fishing and playing cards with family members and friends as long as health permitted. Mrs. Hines was blessed to be one of the oldest native Fayette Countians at the time of her death.

Mrs. Hines is survived by two sons, Billy Ray Peak (Ellen Faye) of Collierville, Terry Lee Peak of Somerville; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Leslie “Joe” Hines, a Somerville Rural Mail Carrier, and her daughter, Patricia Lynn Reeves and son-in-law, Elton.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Dr. Greg Reeves, Randy Reeves, Ricky Reeves, Russell Peak, Richard Evanson and Steve Lee.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Ben-Rich Training Center, 1551 Welch Street, Brownsville, TN 38012.
