Clint Lucas

August 12, 1961 — July 4, 2012

Clinton Eugene “Clint” Lucas, resident of the Somerville Community died Wednesday evening, July 4, 2012 at the Decatur County Hospital in Parsons, Tennessee. He was 50 years of age and died unexpectedly of natural causes while enjoying 4th of July activities on the Tennessee River.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Lucas were conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, July 10th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Paul Wright of the Victory Life Assembly of God Church in Somerville officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Lucas was born August 12, 1961 in Memphis, the son of Gerald Edward “Jerry” Lucas and Carolyn Paxson Lucas. He received his education in the Shelby County Public School System at Collierville and was a former resident of Shelby County before moving to the Somerville Community seven years ago. Mr. Lucas was a Christian and was employed in the West Tennessee area as a residential and commercial painter until retiring for health reasons.

Mr. Lucas was a familiar figure in the Downtown Somerville area where he resided and was often seen in his motorized wheelchair visiting with friends throughout the community. He enjoyed people and had a lifelong love and concern for animals. Outdoor activities that included fishing, hunting and nature were favorite pastimes. He was a lifelong resident of Fayette, Shelby and Tipton counties.

Mr. Lucas is survived by his parents, Gerald “Jerry” and Carolyn Lucas of Somerville; three brothers, Victor Lucas of Collierville, Randy Lucas of Memphis, Bret Lucas of Trenton, TN; and a number of nieces and nephews.
