Cloftes "Sonny" Buford Marlar, Jr.

Cloftes Buford "Sonny" Marlar, Jr., age 74, resident of Memphis and husband of Mary F. Marlar, departed this life Sunday evening, May 7, 2017 at his residence.

Services and Interment for Mr. Marlar were private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Marlar was born September 19, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cloftes Buford Marlar, Sr. and Frances Williams Marlar. He was a graduate of Treadwell High School Class of 1961 and was married October 16, 1961 to the former Mary Davis. Mr. Marlar was of the Christian faith and was employed as a graphic artist at Hanson Engraving in Memphis before his retirement. He will be remembered as a talented artist with the ability to fix anything.

Mr. Marlar is survived  by his wife, Mary F. Marlar of Memphis, TN; four daughters, Tina Hendrick of Bartlett, TN, Karen Cassella of Collierville, TN, Angela Logsdon of Memphis, TN, Rachel Brown of Memphis, TN; his sister, Carolyn Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, MS; his aunt, Betty Berretta of Memphis, TN; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
