1912—2011

Clyde Hall Mangum, longtime resident of the Arlington Community and retired Electrician passed away Saturday evening, May 21, 2011 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville. He was 98 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Mangum were conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Graveside with Rev. Robert Strickland of the New Bethel United Methodist Church at Rossville, officiating. Interment followed in the Arlington Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Mangum was born September 6, 1912 in Smithville, Tennessee. He had been a resident of the Arlington Community for 50 years and was a faithful member of the Arlington United Methodist Church where he was honored with their Unsung Hero Award. Mr. Mangum was an Electrician by trade and an avid gardener.

Mr. Mangum is survived by his sister, Loreda Mangum Morris, his caregivers, Harold and Helyn Keith, his other nephews, Wallace Keith, Don Young (Anita), Dave Young (Marilyn), nieces, Doris Keith Harbor, Judy Mangum Hall (Billy), Sharon Morris Hurst (Leon), Janet Young Fairhurst (Mark), Linda Young Blythe (Gary) and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Elizalee Young Mangum, his parents, Wylie and Hallie Mangum, his sister, Eva Mangum Keith and his brother, Corbin Mangum.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Arlington United Methodist Church, 6145 Quintard Street, Arlington, TN 38002.
