COLTE ALLEN BENSON

COLTE ALLEN BENSON, a resident of the Williston Community and recent college graduate died at 8:40 A.M. Saturday, December 27, 2008 in Memphis. He was 22 years of age and died unexpectedly.

Funeral services for Mr. Benson were conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, December 30th at Peebles West Funeral Chapel in Oakland with the Rev. Jim Stubbs, Pastor of the Braden United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.

Mr. Benson was born November 2, 1986 in Memphis the son of Jamie A. Benson and Stefanie Besinger Benson. He was a Graduate of the West Union High School at Myrtle, Mississippi and graduated earlier this year from Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis. He was presently completing his requirement for certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Mr. Benson was of the Methodist Faith and had resided with his family in the Williston Community for the past ten years.

Known for his love of music and his enjoyment for playing the guitar and singing, Mr. Benson was a lifelong resident of North Mississippi and West Tennessee. His interests included bicycling, sports, out of door activities and animals.

He was a family oriented person and his brother was his best friend.

In addition to his parents, Colte is survived by his sister, Kiefer Benson of Williston; his brother, Chanc Benson of Williston; his maternal grandparents, Paul and Margaret Besinger of Ripley, MS; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Lynn Benson of Germantown and numerous aunts, uncles and other family members and friends.

Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Alex Hall, Matt Martin, Josh Pearce, Brandon Pearce, Alex Carr and Elliott Copen.
