CONNIE MARIE MARRS HURST, a resident of the Bolivar Community and retired home healthcare employee died Saturday afternoon, January 23, 2010 at the Bolivar General Hospital in Hardeman County where she was taken after becoming ill at her residence. She was 56 years of age and died following a ten-day illness.
Funeral services and interment for Mrs. Hurst were private and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Crematory of Somerville and Oakland.
A native of Joiner, Arkansas, Mrs. Hurst was born February 17, 1953. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Burlin Marrs and Reba L. Gray Marrs.
She received her education in the Mississippi County, Arkansas Public School System and was a former resident of Salem, Arkansas before moving to Hardeman County twelve years ago.
Mrs. Hurst was of the Christian faith and had been associated with home healthcare agencies and retail sales throughout much of her life.
She will be remembered as a person with a special love for her grandchildren, and her favorite pastimes included shopping and computer technology.
Survivors of Mrs. Hurst include her daughter, Cynthia Easley of Bolivar; her son, Freddy Adams, Jr. of Bolivar; three sisters: Sherry Collins of Trumann, AR; Vickie Marrs and Doris Freeman, both of Bolivar; eight grandchildren and her special friends, Regina Etheridge of Viola, AR and Shorlyn Morris of Agnos, AR.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and two grandchildren.
