COURTNEY KNIGHT GAITHER PARHAM

December 23, 1918 — February 28, 2009

COURTNEY KNIGHT GAITHER PARHAM, longtime resident of the LaGrange Community and wife of the late Francis Marion Parham died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at her beloved home, "Bellevue". She was 90 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Funeral services for Mrs. Parham were conducted at 1 P.M. Monday, March 2nd at the Immanuel Episcopal Church in LaGrange with The Rev. Jeffery Marx, Pastor of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Collierville, officiating. Interment followed in the LaGrange Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home-Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Parham was born December 23, 1918 in Tunica Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents Grover C. Gaither and Will Woodson Roach Gaither.

She was married January 15, 1942 to Franklin Marion Parham, longtime LaGrange Farmer and Landowner who preceded her in death on May 4, 1990.

Mrs. Parham was a member of the Immanuel Episcopal Church and had been a resident of the LaGrange Community for over sixty-five years.

A graduate of the University of Mississippi, she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority and a Charter Member of the Collierville Bridge Club.

She will be remembered for the love of her family, her home and her community.

Survivors of Mrs. Parham include her daughter, Marion Parham Peaks of Jackson, MS; her son, Edward Gaither "Buzzy" Parham and wife Sheila of LaGrange; her grandchildren: David "Chuckie" Parham Peaks of Shreveport, LA; Mary Frances Odom and husband Justin of Collierville and Courtney Caroline Parham of LaGrange.

Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Johnny Allison, "Bugs" Burch, Bill Cowan, Walter Crenshaw, Paul Davenport, Nick Edwards and Rube Rhea.

Honorary casket bearers were Michael Buffington, Jim Cowan and Phil Griffin.

The family requests that Memorials be directed to the LaGrange Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 632, LaGrange, TN 38046 or to the Immanuel Episcopal Church at LaGrange.
