CURTIS WAYNE STEWART, a resident of the Fayette Corner Community near Whiteville and former resident of Yuma, Arizona, died Saturday evening, August 22, 2009, at the Methodist Hospital Fayette in Somerville where he was taken after becoming suddenly ill at his residence. He was 54 years of age.
Funeral services for Mr. Stewart were conducted at 4 P.M. Friday, September 4, 2009 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. David Reeves, pastor of Midway Baptist Church in Whiteville, officiating. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Stewart was born in Yuma, Arizona the son of Norma Jean Brummett Stewart and the late Charles Wayne Stewart.
Mr. Stewart was of the Pentecostal faith.
He was a loving, caring family-oriented person who enjoyed music, playing the guitar, fishing, nature, watching wrestling and outdoor activities.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Stewart is survived by his sisters, Carla Jean Peel of Collierville and Dalena Kaye Cramp of Whiteville; his brothers, Robert Lee Stewart of Yuma, Arizona; Charles Ray Stewart of Whiteville and Dale Stewart of Atoka, Oklahoma and a number of nieces and nephews.
