D.A. "Mack" McClain

January 17, 1941 — April 27, 2017

D.A. "Mack" McClain, age 76, resident of Somerville and husband of Jo Carol Ray McClain, departed this life Thursday afternoon, April 27, 2017 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Memorial Services with Military Honors for Mr. McClain were conducted at 1 P.M. Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. A Private Interment will be in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. McClain was born January 17, 1941 in Paris, Tennessee, the son of the late Dorris McClain and the late Gladys Allen McClain. He was a graduate of E.W. Grove High School in Paris, Tennessee and served his country in the United States Air Force. He was married May 1, 1965 to the former Jo Carol Ray, who survives and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. McClain was employed in the management customer service department with Northwest Airlines and Delta Airlines before his retirement. He enjoyed restoring tractors and cars, woodworking, playing golf, raising blueberries and playing the guitar and keyboard.

Mr. McClain is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jo Carol Ray McClain of Somerville, TN; his daughter, Stacey Wright (Tommy) of Germantown, TN; his son, Mark Allen McClain (Stephanie) of Chattanooga, TN; his sister, Gaynelle Quesenberry (Joe) of Memphis, TN; four grandchildren, Sarah Ashley Wright, Cameron Wright, Landon Wright, Hunter McClain; and his nephew, David.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
