Danny Webb Mangum, age 84, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and husband of Jerry Belote Mangum, departed this life Saturday evening, June 1, 2024 at Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.
Danny was born July 11, 1939 in Marion, Arkansas, the son of the late Daniel Tipton Mangum and Maggie Webb Mangum. He graduated in 1957 from Southside High School in Memphis and served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Danny did an apprenticeship with IBEW and was employed as an electrician for many years. He was part owner of 2L Electric Company before his retirement in 2000.
Mr. Mangum was married on July 18, 1964 to Jerry Belote Mangum. He was a member of the Mason’s and an avid fan of the University of Tennessee. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed traveling, especially going to Greers Ferry Lake.
Mr. Mangum is survived by his wife, Jerry Belote; two daughters, Dawn Stewart (Sam) and Tina Kirk (John); six grandchildren, Bailey Lutz, Callie Lutz, Mitchell Stewart, Brady Stewart (Erin), Alexander Lawton and Ashley Lawton; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Danielle Buchanan and his sister, Jan McElhaney.
Memorial Services for Mr. Mangum were held at 6 P.M. Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
