Danny Lee “Tink” Rhea, age 69, resident of Moscow and husband of Lanelle McClure Rhea, departed this life Thursday evening, February 2, 2017 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Rhea were conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Bro. David Parlow, pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Rhea was born December 10, 1947 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. “Buck” Rhea and Lillie Allen Rhea. He received his education in the Fayette County School System and was married on October 17, 1969 to the former Lanelle McClure. Mr. Rhea was a lifelong resident of the Moscow community and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He worked at Troxel Manufacturing and Ripley Screen prior to his employment at Chickasaw Electric in Somerville before his retirement in 2009. In his earlier years, he enjoyed softball, coaching little league, working in his yard, helping his family with housework and cooking. He enjoyed vacations to the mountains most of all and would go to the ocean because he knew it was such a special place for his family. Mr. Rhea was an avid Tennessee Football fan and enjoyed watching the games. He also enjoyed spending time with his canine companion, Rosie.
Mr. Rhea is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lanelle McClure Rhea of Moscow, TN; his daughter, Amy Crisp (John) of Moscow, TN; his son, Terry Rhea (David Erickson) of Washington D.C.; extended daughters, Tammy Morrison (David) of Moscow, TN, Connie Stegall (Danny) of Clinton, MS and Wendy Raines (Brian) of Arlington, TN; two brothers, J.W. Rhea (Reba), Munford, TN, Sterling Rhea (Sandy) of Byhalia, MS; his grandson, Gabe Crisp of Moscow, TN; and extended grandchildren, Jessica Gain (Josh), Julia Shoaf (Daniel), Anna Marie Pugh, Josie Raines and Brayden McClure.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Wayne Rhea and his sister, Betty Rhea.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Gary Rhea, Dewayne Rhea, Jerry Rhea, Bubba Miller, Mark McClure, Doug McClure, Tony McClure and Mike McClure. Honorary pallbearers were David Morrison, Daniel Shoaf, James McClure, Joe McClure, John M. Crisp, John P. Crisp, Joe Allen, Robert Hall, Bobby Crisp, Steve Rhea, Mark Rhea, Henry Diffee, David Erickson and Josh Gain.
