David Diffee Ballard

David Diffee Ballard, lifelong resident of the Somerville Community departed this life Wednesday morning, October 23, 2013 at the National Health Care Center in Somerville where he resided for three years. He was 71 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Graveside Services for Mr. Ballard were conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, October 25th with Bro. Justin Wainscott of the First Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Ballard was born December 17, 1941 in Somerville. He was preceded in death by his parents, James David (J.D.) Ballard and Mary Lillian Diffee Ballard. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and the Shriner's School in Jackson, Tennessee. A member of the Somerville First Baptist Church, he enjoyed riding horses and will be remembered as a people person.
Mr. Ballard is survived by his aunt, Leona Graham of Somerville and two cousins, Rose Posey of Somerville and Danny Graham of Oakland.
