David Jennings Camp, age 26, resident of Germantown, departed this life Friday morning, September 2, 2016 at the Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital as a result of complications from a degenerative neurological disease.
Services of Remembrance for David were conducted at 10 A.M. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Riveroaks Reformed Presbyterian Church in Germantown with Rev. Billy Spink, minister of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Personal remarks were given by Rev. Nate Smith at the graveside. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
David was born April 8, 1990 in Memphis, the son of Marshall and Dayna Jennings Camp. He graduated from Houston High School and was involved in Special Olympics and many special needs activities. Although David was confined to a wheelchair the last few years of his life, he enjoyed a very full life with many beloved friends and a close relationship with his family. He had a mischievous sense of humor and loved Laurel and Hardy, animated movies, video games, Pokémon, the color yellow and cool t-shirts. Attending Joy Prom and Special Olympics bowling were some highlights for him as he loved any opportunity to be with the people he loved.
David is survived by his parents, Marshall and Dayna Camp of Germantown, his sister, Rachel Novak (Michael) of San Antonio, TX, his brother, Aaron Camp (Kristi) of Baton Rouge, LA, his sister, Hannah Beasley (Caleb) of Nashville, his brother, John Camp of Pensacola, FL, his maternal grandfather, Dewey Jennings of McCormick, SC, his paternal grandmother, Pat Camp of Somerville and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
